How To Throw a Fail Proof 4th of July Party

The Fourth of July is definitely one of our favorite holiday's to plan.  It's the summer kick off  celebration with family, friends, good food, and hopefully some sunshine!  While we typically go crazy over party decor (duh!) this year we decided to keep things relatively simple, but what is a Fourth of July party without star plates and sparklers?  Plus, we wanted to give you the low down on yummy recipes, activities, and fun beverages to help you throw a fail proof party.

There are lots of ways to bring in red, white, and blue into your party décor. With bunting, garlands, tablecloths, plates, flowers, and more, you have tons of options! We love the look of a colorful tablecloth, festive plates, and coordinating cups.

PLAN OUT SOME ACTIVITIES
To entertain your guests and your kids, pull out some games. There are some great classics like cornhole, bocce ball, and croquet, but you can also play ladder toss, lawn bowling, or make a scavenger hunt!

FUN COCKTAILS!
What is a 4th of July Party without some patriotic inspired beverages? This Blueberry Strawberry Mojito from Well Plated is refreshing and simple to make! For those who want a mocktail, this layered drink from In Katrina’s Kitchen is sure to entertain and delight. (They’re able to layer the colors with liquids with a different sugar density! How cool is that?!) PRO TIP: Premake your drink the night before so it's ready to serve the next day.

FESTIVE CHEESBOARD FOR THE WIN
After your drinks, it’s time to start on the appetizers. You can create a patriotic cheese spread with red and blue fruit, and white cheese. All you need are strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, red grapes, salami, and some cheese! We love this inspiration from Eat Yourself Skinny. (If you’ve never made a cheese board before, the key things you want for your cheese board are: cheese, sweet, savory, meat, and bread. Fruit is usually the “sweet” and olives and nuts make for a good “savory.”)

FIRE UP THE GRILL
It’s hard to go wrong with the classics like grilled chicken and grilled corn. These Honey Sriracha Grilled Chicken Thighs from Joyful Healthy Eats looks amazing! And there are tons of ways to make grilled corn. Our two favorites; served plain or grilled while wrapped in bacon.

CUPCAKE FLAG DESSERT
Dessert is a must for any party we think.  We like to keep it simple and not get to literal with the theme which is why we love these cupcakes from The Girl Who Ate Everything.  With a gentle nod to the American flag these cupcakes are easy to assemble.  Choose to make them from scratch or buy cupcakes from your local bakery and add the fruit!

THE DECOR
With some preparation, you’re sure to have a fantastic party! Our Fourth of July Party box was carefully curated to ensure you'd have the most festive plates, cups, straws, napkins, wooden cutlery, balloons, garlands, sparkler candles, and baking cups.  You name it and this box has it! Let's be honest you have more important things to do like planning out the food and fun!

Happy Fourth!
